Thursday 7th March
We left Pemberton, which we very much liked, and headed for Walpole. The route took us into Mount Frankland National Park where we were once again driving on gravel roads.

Our first stop was Fernhook Falls where, although there was this lovely pool, the river and falls were both bone dry.

The trees here were becoming smaller as we headed uphill towards Mount Frankland.

We decided to walk to the summit which entailed quite a steep trek followed by 301 steps.

The view was stunning from the top and all around us was Walpole Wilderness, with no roads nor settlements in sight.

We drove down towards the coast and followed the Valley of the Gaints circular route, stopping off at the Treetop Walk. This was well worth the visit and the walk reached 40m above ground level so that you really felt that you were in the tree tops.

On the ground level the Ancient Empire Boardwalk led us round the very old and large Tingle trees.
