Monday 11th March
No visits today as we were travelling the 300 miles from Albany to Esperance. It rained virtually non-stop, at times so heavily that we almost had to pull over. Despite today's rain, the riverbeds are still dry.

The countryside that we passed through was very parched, brown and flat.

We again met quite a few road trains but, because the road was mostly very straight we were able to pass them reasonably easily.

Most of the land was covered in bushes unless it was farmed and so it was a change to see these red gum trees.

Just past Fitzgerald River National Park there was this huge mine on the horizon. We think they are mining nicklel.

We arrived in Esperance in the late afternoon and went for a stroll along the very green esplanade.
