On our way north out of Albany we met quite a number of these huge road trains which had three big trailers.
We explored Porongurup which is a forest area dotted with granite peaks. As it was showery and the rock was wet we did not climb Castle Rock and go along the Skywalk as we had planned.
Only a short walk from the gravel road we saw the Tree-in-the-Rock which is pretty big considering its position in the middle of the huge granite boulder.
We drove on towards the Stirling Range which rise steeply from the surrounding flat land.
We read somewhere that wet weather is called 'kangaroo weather' and today we must have seen well over twenty in ones and twos along the route.
This gravel road is very wide, possibly providing a fire break in the extensive forests. These hills are sandstone and trees grew up to the summits.
This large male kangaroo (the biggest we have seen) was in some farmland on the edge of the National Park.
Just a bit further along the road was this group of emus.
The low clouds gave the hills an unusual appearance and there were lots of different birds and animals along both edges of this road.
