Wednesday 19th September
We spent the morning watching the waves at Ocean Shores then drove east, crossing the Chelias River in an industrial area before driving through miles of forest.
We arrived at Tumwater to check in and then drove the few miles to Olympia, the State Capitol of Washington. The Legislative Building is very impressive, topped by a 287 foot dome.
We explored the area and found a good viewpoint across Budd Inlet in the heart of the city.
As we were leaving, we went to look at the WW2 War memorial and found it quite moving as all the names are engraved within the silhouettes of soldiers.
