Monday 3rd September
We drove through forests shrouded in smoke due to fires in the area. Our first destination was McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park.
We followed the Burney Falls loop trail which gave us these lovely photos of the falls and the river below and above.






We spent the early part of the afternoon by the edge of Burney Lake and happened to see this bluejay on the picnic bench beside us.



Later we travelled on to Mount Shasta where we drove up to the furthest point at 7,500 ft.

Waterfall looks great, where is all the water sprouting from that's not in the main fall, does the river go underground?
