Tuesday 3rd March
Westport to Nelson
Woke up to glorious blue skies and sunshine and as we left Westport three dolphins swam up the River Buller as we drove across the bridge out of town.

We followed this river through the Buller Gorge giving us miles of beautiful scenery.

As we were leaving the mountain area, we stopped at a high viewpoint where you could see where logging had totally cleared some of the forest areas. We saw quite a few logging trucks on the road.

We walked from our hotel to the beach at Tasman Bay. The sea was warm and we strolled barefoot along the beach watching windsurfers and treading carefully where there were lots of shells.
