Tuesday 6th March
This morning we walked the short distance to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, which are very extensive and include this typical Victorian palm house.

At the other end of the gardens is the Bicentennial Conservatory, a very striking building.

We crossed a bridge where we saw this view of Kainka Wirra main lake.

There were some beautiful butterflies on the greenery in the Australian forest section.

After a circular tour of the city on the free bus, we visited the Art Gallery of South Australia. We were struck by the way contemporary art is displayed alongside Victorian pieces.

In the late afternoon we strolled down to the River Torrens and walked along the wide footpaths on either side.

We saw many different types of bird on and around the river, including this pelican.

After dinner we went to see this light show on the corner of Rundle Mall.
