Friday 9th March
Before we left Mount Gambier today we visited Umpherston Sinkhole in which someone has created a garden. It is said that at night possums come out to feed here.

For much of our journey the road was bordered by huge areas of pine forest.

There were quite a few logging trucks, some of which towed two trailers.

We spent some time at Port Fairy where we walked along this lovely beach. We had planned to stay here overnight but the town was hosting its big annual music festival so there was no accommodation available.

We explored the wharf area which is one of the oldest in the state of Victoria. As we crossed into this satae we lost another half hour due to time differences.

This evening we are staying in Warrnambool which we will explore tomorrow when we start our travels along The Great Ocean Road.
