Saturday 17th March
We are presently in Bathurst, having travelled up through the Blue Mountains from Canberra.
We stopped for a coffee break at Goulburn where we saw this giant model of a merino sheep.
We passed hundreds of the real animals as we drove across acres of land that reminded us of the Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors.
In the Abercrombie River National Park we drove over high land with views like this across to the Blue Mountains.
This is an area that has recently been affected by flooding and some areas are still under water.
When we arrived in Bathurst we went for a walk beside the river on the other side of this bridge which, two weeks ago, was under water and half the town was cut off for a day or two.
In the early evening we explored the town centre where this carillon is a memorial to those who lost their lives in war.
