Wednesday 4th February
After a lazy morning in the sun we dropped off the car and checked in at Nadi airport for our flight to New Zealand. The time before the flight passed by quickly as we were talking to two retired teachers from Sheffield who were on a similar trip. The plane was more than half empty so we got a set of three seats between the two of us.
We flew over our hotel which is just opposite the big blue building.

We flew over the area that we drove through yesterday and had a fantastic view of the coast.

Three hours later we caught our first sight of New Zealand.

We had a smooth and fast entry into New Zealand. Our waiter at dinner lived five minutes from our hotel in Nadi and we were able to reassure him that life is getting back to normal there after the severe floods. He said that they have had nothing like them for over a hundred years.
