As we ate breakfast this morning rain started falling. Apparently it is the first rain to fall here since Christmas.
We drove north towards Te Kuiti where we stopped at a viewing point just above the town when it was still raining.
Te Kuiti is the Shearing Capital of New Zealand and this giant statue is at one end of the main street.
As we stopped for lunch the rain was clearing and we had a good view of typical New Zealand countryside.
We are now in Cambridge near lake Te Koutu.
We may be out of touch for a few days as we travel to the beach house tomorrow afternoon.
