Tuesday 14th February
This morning we took a cab to Chinatown as we wanted to do some shopping in the market there.

As it was just opening it wasn't very busy which was good for looking but it meant that all the stallholders pestered us more than usual. We did buy a couple of things and Glenys had a silk blouse made to measure. It was delivered to our hotel 8 hours later.

We took a water taxi along the Singapore River and the first stop was at Merlion Park.

This is a typical view of the skyline from Marina Bay.

At our next stop we discovered the Helix footbridge that crosses the entrance to the bay.

From the Esplanade jetty we could clearly see the Art Science Museum and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel which has a Sky Park which joins all three towers. We walked the length of all the three towers, but at ground level, past eye-wateringly expensive shops when we sought cool indoor air.

Hi Alan and Glenys - sorry we couldn't join you again at Raffles for another Singapore Sling! Looking forward to the rest of your blog - extremely envious. Pete + Carolynn
