Sunday 19th February
Continuing on our route north we stopped by the side of the road when we saw the blossom on this magnificent tree.

We next visited Nambucca Heads and drove down to the beach. This beach was again virtually deserted and we walked along investigating the rock pools, which were teeming with fish.

Coffs Harbour was our next port of call. We visited the Botanic Gardens, part of which is a mangrove swamp where we saw hundreds of these tiny crabs.

In another part of the swamp there was a hide where we viewed the wading birds feeding as the tide came in.

Another section displayed typical local forest plants.

Towards the end of the walk we rested in the shade of these gum trees.

It was only a short drive to the harbour where we sat on the breakwater watching the sea and enjoying the hot sunshine.

Further on is the marina with many different types of yachts lined up.

In the early evening, as we were heading for our hotel, we spotted a kangaroo only a few metres from the road.
