Friday 17th February
We were both up early this morning to catch the sunrise over the Opera House & also saw a cruise ship entering the harbour.

We picked up our rental car and set off north. We had to cross Sydney Harbour Bridge on our way out of the city. We had not realised that trains use it as well.

We turned off the Pacific Highway to Tanilba Bay to visit the Tilligerry Habitat.

We had come to see a natural eucalyptus grove by the bay and the weather was so hot that we were glad of the cool breezes there.

We had hoped to see a koala in its natural habitat and were not disappointed. This individual was about ten feet up into a tree.

Throughout our walk we heard kookaburras calling and we glimpsed this one just near the pathway.

On the edge of the grove there was a lovely beach with wading birds feeding in the shallows.

This evening we are staying for the night in the small town of Bulahdelah by the side of the Pacific Highway..

so amazing! Keep it coming. Cute koala and also reminded me of a song I used to sing either at school or somewhere, can't stop singing it now!

Kookaburra sits
On the old gum tree-ee
Merry Merry King
Of the bush is he-ee
Laugh
Kookaburra, laugh
Kookaburra
Gay your life must be
