Saturday 20th February
As it was a very windy day we chose sheltered places to visit. This is Trafalgar Cemetery which has been in use for 300 years.

It is particularly well known as there are graves of sailors who died as a result of wounds received at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The whole area is very well kept.

It is situated just outside the very high city walls.

A little further along the road we explored the Alameda Botanical Gardens more thoroughly.

The weather is improving and we enjoyed the sunshine, as did several lizards.

This stunning bougainvillea contrasts well with 'the Rock' in the background.

On our way back we passed through another gateway in the walls. This was the route used to transport provisions from the quayside to the garrison.
