SATURDAY 20th FEBRUARY - RUSSELL & CHRISTINE'S WEDDING DAY

We were both very excited as we prepared to leave from our hotel for the big wedding.

Glenys' brother Keith and his wife Ruth had travelled to Kenya to be there too.

While Glenys and Ruth went to collect the bride and her party, Keith and I went to be with Russell and his groomsmen.

The bridesmaids walked elegantly up the aisle to await Christine and her mother Eunice

The bride & groom begin their wedding vows with Pastor Tom officiating. Edrin, a good friend from university, was his best man and Elsie, a friend of Christine from her school days, was her chief bridesmaid.

Just after the ceremony, some photos were taken outside the Cathedral. This one is taken with all their friends who had travelled from the UK.

Just beside the Cathedral, we had a quiet moment with Rachael and Mike.

Russell and Christine are leaving for the reception at Karen Blixen Museum grounds.

The reception venue at Karen Blixen was in beautiful open-air tents and there were about 350 guests.

The wedding cake had an African theme and had it's own tent in the centre.

The wedding couple arrive at the head of a long line of female guests who all danced in to the reception and round twice more.

The best man Edrin and chief bridesmaid Elsie, with Russell and Christine at the head of the line.

The happy couple after they got chance to have a rest.

Part of the ceremony was when Glenys had to give Christine advice on cooking for Russell.

Christine's mother, Eunice, giving a wedding speech followed by the giving of a gift from her friends at the bank.

Russell and Christine cutting the cake - after this they both had to feed each other a mouthful.

Keith and Ruth giving best wishes.

Rachael, Russell and Christine.

We had a most marvellous day and wish our son and his new bride a happy future.
