The final section was along a permissive path through a nature reserve from where we had several sightings of red kites.

Wednesday 30th March This afternoon we went for a walk around the Harewood Estate. As we crossed a bridge we enjoyed this lovely view of several waterfalls. This is the view from the other side of the bridge. Just past Home Farm we stopped to admire the view from the highest point on the walk. In the distance is Arthington Viaduct.

Sunday 27th March We went to Temple Newsam this afternoon and it was odd to see the cherry blossom out at the same time as the daffodils. We walked up to the temple and along the top path back down to the lake. As usual, the greenhouses were full of colour and the scent was lovely.
In the courtyard there was a craft market and also a display of birds of prey.

Saturday 26th March
We travelled to Northallerton for the North Yorkshire County Record Office History Day. There were displays by local and family history societies.
After lunch Ruth Goodman, star of BBC TV's Edwardian Farm & several history programmes, gave an entertaining talk "The Cycle of Life" based on the sixteenth century in England.

Tuesday 8th March
We decided to drive up Sutton Bank and walk along to the White Horse.

The path took us past the Yorkshire Gliding Club and there were several gliders taking off, landing and in the air. The wind was quite strong at times but the sky was clear.

Sunday 6th March
As we drove through Pannel we just had to stop and admire the crocuses on the village green.
We have never seen Fewston so full. This photo was taken when we set off on our walk around the reservoir.
Half way around we could hear the roar of the water and at the dam it cascaded with some force down the outflow.
To the right is the outfall on the other side of the dam where the water then flows into Swinsty Reservoir.

Friday 4th March
The sun was shining and so we explored further along a walk that we had done previously, setting off from Spofforth Castle. There were clear views all around & we could see for miles in all directions.
When we crossed the final fields we found this hidden lake and were fascinated by the clear reflections on the surface.
Spring is surely on the way and we noticed this ladybird on a branch just in front of us.
