 Thursday 28th December 2023

Spotting the snowdrops appearing was a lovely treat today.

The path around the small Ings field was flooded as was the area by the bridge in town.

Harrogate was quite busy and there were some lovely displays still on show.

Lovely sunshine & chat by the river this morning.

 Monday 11th December 2023

A lovely afternoon shopping in York. It wasn't too busy. There are lots of lovely shops there. We enjoyed tea in a very comfortable restaurant just off St Helen's Square. We came out to a wonderful singer singing songs from Les Miserables then walked through the Christmas Market. The lights were at their best as the evening was dark & clear.

 Tuesday 28th November

Knaresborough was very quiet apart from small groups of photographers taking advantage of the beautiful clear light which was tinged with salmon pink as the sun started to set.

 Saturday 2nd December

On Thursday there were beautiful frost patterns over the conservatory roof. Today there were carpets of leaves under the trees as I walked along the railway line. Winter has arrived.

 Thursday 23rd November

There is still plenty of green on the trees lining the railway track towards Spofforth.

Sunday 26th November

The path past the golf course was lined with the straightest line of mushrooms that we have ever seen. When we looked around more closely it was part of a huge circle. The sound of the water in the stream makes this section really special.

Tuesday 28th November

Knaresborough was very quiet today though I did wait for people to move out of shot for two of these photos. The light was wonderful, clear tinged with salmon pink as the sun set. There were groups of people with very big cameras taking photos in unusual places around the town.

 Wednesday 15th November 2023

The magnificent old trees in Roundhay Park are still full of rich colours.

Saturday, 11 November 2023

 Saturday 11th November.

Clear blue skies are best appreciated on a walk in the open with far reaching views so Sutton Bank was the ideal destination. The drive up the 168 was lovely with trees in full autumn colours on all sides. The walk was lovely and watching gliders land and be towed into flight was an added bonus.

Thursday, 9 November 2023

 Thursday 9th November.

Perfect timing for our walk around Harlow Carr to enjoy the autumn colours.

Monday, 23 October 2023

 Monday 23rd October

The Nidderdale Greenway is a lovely level tarmac path through woods beside the River Nidd. We turned left just before Ripley to join the trail by the bridge there. It was the perfect day for a walk.

Saturday, 21 October 2023

 Saturday 21st October

The Autumn Festival at Harlow Carr takes place today and tomorrow. Yesterday's storm meant that the food and plant stalls were cancelled but all the indoor events took place. The garden is just edging into the colours of autumn.

 Wednesday 18th October

A stroll through the woods to Paul's Pond at Golden Acre Park then a circuit of the lake in the main park gave us a pleasant walk of a decent length.

 Thursday 28th September

Roundhay Park was lovely today.

The mature trees are wonderful.

Canal Gardens was colourful and the fountain has stopped the green algae from covering all the water.

The walled garden is a real sun trap and the autumn bedding plants were at their best.

Barrens Fountain was at full height and attracting ducks and river gulls.

The views of the lake and the slope of The Carriage Drive make it a treat to walk down.

The old drinking fountain is still magnificent.

Lovely clear views and large areas of grass to play on as you approach the Lower Lake.
