Monday 11th November
Dunham Massey looked stunning on this damp autumn day.

As we were walking through the parkland we watched the deer grazing not far away.

Thursday November 7th
We revisited Beamish as the forecast for today was good. This is the bus that we caught to travel around the site.

We looked inside the cottages in the Pit Village and enjoyed the smell of the coal fires.

Just across the road is the Methodist Chapel.

Next door is the school which contained many of the things that we remember from our school days in the 50's.

Just as we were leaving two Clydesdale horses were being washed in readiness for the farrier's visit.

A short drive away is Hedley Hall Wood where Glenys owns a small patch of woodland. We had not visited since 2006 and were pleased with how well the trees have grown.

This is the panorama view from the bottom end of the wood.

Monday 4th November
We decided to visit Golden Acre Park to make the most of today's sunshine. Many of the trees are still green and we were surprised by the colour of the chrysanthemums this late in the year.

Friday 1st November
This evening we returned to York to see more of the events in the festival.
These lights told a story and were projected onto the façade of St Helen's Church.

In the garden of the Treasurer's House students from the university created a strange scene with light, fire, smoke and dance.

Inside the house ghostly tales were told in each candlelight room.
