Sunday 21st July
We walked around Valley Gardens in Harrogate and then sat and listened to the White Rose brass band playing a wide selection of music.
During the interval we looked round an art exhibition in the colonnade nearby.

Wednesday 17th July
We followed part of a U3A walk along the banks of the river Nidd in Knaresborough. The sections through the trees were lovely and cool in the hot sunshine.

We returned along the riverside path that leads under the viaduct.

There were lots of people out on the river in rowing boats.

Wednesday 10th July
As we had not visited for many years, we decided to explore Spurn Point again. From Kilnsea we drove for three miles down the very narrow road until we arrived at the car park which faces the Humber estuary.

We walked right around the point and enjoyed watching large ships that were entering the river mouth.

This is the seaward side where the effects of erosion are clearly visible.

Thursday 4th July
On Thursdays in July Harlow Carr garden is open until 9pm so we took advantage of the lovely summer evening to stroll around for an hour or so. The local high school jazz band added to the pleasant atmosphere.
