Sunday 26th May
This was an ideal day to enjoy Dunham Massey as the spring were at their best particularly the bluebells.

We rounded off a busy weekend at Russell and Christine's house by completing the floor in the garage.

Sunday 19th May
As the weather was good we drove to West Burton to follow a walk to Aysgarth Falls and back.
We crossed two fields then walked by the side of Bishopdale Beck.

The next part of the walk saw us climbing and we enjoyed magnificient views of the nearby countryside.

St Andrews Parish Church in Aysgarth was our next stop. The large churchyard was full of Spring flowers.

Taking off our boots, we explored the stunning architecture inside, especially the rood screen and abbot's stall that were rescued from Jervaulx Abbey.

Through the churchyard the path leads down to the riverside and Aysgarth Falls on the River Ure.

Further down are the equally beautiful Lower Falls.

Thursday 16th May
As it was forecast to be a lovely day, we drove to Filey to walk along the beach and to the far end of the Brig.

We had clear views back inland and enjoyed watching the waves crashing against the rocks.

We timed our visit so that we were there at low tide and were able to walk out further than we had gone before.

On the cliffs above the main beach lots of model aeroplanes were being flown, making best use of the wind.

Sunday 12th May
After enjoying lunch with Keith and Ruth, we visited Tirley Garth, a private garden that is only open for a few days a year in aid of charity.
The garden is divided into a series of rooms and lies across a small valley.
