Monday 7th February
After waking up to a very windy day, we discovered, just a few steps from the hotel, the marina basin where barges are moored for the winter.
We strolled along the towpath beside a very full canal to the centre of Nottingham and back. There were very few people around and the sun came out as we returned.
On our way home we visited Clumber Park and enjoyed a drive through the forest and a couple of hours by the river.

Sunday 6th February
On our way to Nottingham we visited Hodsock Priory to see the famous snowdrops. www.snowdrops.co.uk
In one corner there were examples of Victorian beehives and it was so warm that we saw a few bees actually flying in and out.
On a bank in the main garden there were lots of miniature daffodils as well as the snowdrops.
