Monday 19th May
Today we drove down to London to visit the Chelsea Flower Show tomorrow.
Near our hotel in Golders Green is Golders Hill Park where we saw these very well maintained gardens.

Tuesday 20th May
Today we visited the Chelsea Flower Show for the first time. We arrived at 10am and stayed for over eight hours. Time passed very quickly. These are some of the outdoor gardens that we particularly liked.

Inside the marquee the stands and displays were amazing. The colours and scents hit you as you entered.

The BBC film crews were everywhere.

Back outside this was one of our favourite courtyard gardens.

Wednesday 21st May
This morning we explored Highgate Cemetery which was very interesting as well as natural and peaceful.

On our way back home we stopped for a break at Stamford to look at its lovely old stone buildings.

We enjoyed three days of warm sunshine and Chelsea was well worth the visit.

Saturday 10th May.
We needed to take a break from the dust being created by the work in the bathrooms at home, so went to Whitby for the weekend. The weather was glorious, hot with blue skies on Saturday.

On Sunday there was a thick sea fret over the town. After climbing the 199 steps to the Abbey, we strolled back through the town to Pannet Park to look at the art exhibitions.
After lunch we took the road to Scarborough to visit the plantation of trees where two trees had been dedicated to Glenys as a retirement present.

It was a lovely walk through fields and trees to the Woodland Trust's area of new planting at Boggle Top Wood.
