On Thursday 20th we took the tube to Earls Court for the 100th Ideal Home Show.

Mike Robinson did an entertaining cooking demonstration using wild food; venison, pigeon and rabbit.

This is one of several gardens around the Dream Home and Guest House exhibit which showed luxury living in the 21st century.
.

We queued to look round the Eco House of the Future which showcased low carbon living and recycling. We liked the soft bamboo towels and saw a lot of new products.

We spent seven hours here and did not see everything.
Just before the Easter weekend we went down to London to visit Rachael and to go to the Ideal Home Exhibition on Thursday.
We travelled down on Wednesday and in the afternoon went to Trafalgar Square on our way to the National Gallery.

Just through the main entrance were the six models proposed for the empty plinth in Trafalgar Square. Everyone was invited to leave comments and to vote for their favourite. We chose the ship in a bottle for the reasoning behind it as well as its appearance.

On Sunday 2nd March we went to visit Russell in Sheffield. As it was a lovely day, we decided to take a trip out into the Peak District. We stopped in Bakewell and this is the river there. It has some fine Victorian buildings.

We drove back via Buxton and Glossop and the Snake Pass. We stopped for dinner at a hotel near Ladybower reservoir.
